This notice describes the data handling observed on this site today. It is a plain-language description of the current implementation, not a contract.

Who publishes this site
Connected Home Notes is the name this site publishes under. This notice covers this site only; external sites you open from a link have their own policies.
Reading a page
This site is served through a hosting and content-delivery provider, which processes the standard request data needed to deliver a page: IP address, browser user agent, the requested URL and the time of the request. How the provider handles that data is set by its own policy.
Analytics
Pages load an analytics script from Auspia that records page views and basic technical information such as the referring page, browser, device type and approximate country. A Google Analytics 4 tag from Google also loads.
Auspia and Google handle that data under their own policies, including any cookies they set.
Cookies and local storage
The shared site shell sets a theme cookie that remembers whether you chose light, dark or system appearance. Some older guide pages store the same preference under a cc-theme key in local storage. Both values are used only for appearance. Any cookies set by the analytics providers are governed by their own policies.
Browser tools
Calculators, converters and generators on this site run in your browser. The values you type are processed locally and are not sent to this site or stored on its server.
Contact
This site has no contact form, so no message data is collected through this site. The contact page explains what a useful correction report should include.
External links
Pages link to external sites, including ConnectedCasa material on connectedcasa.org where it is cited as an external reference. Those destinations have their own privacy policies and may collect data independently. External links in the main content are marked withrel="nofollow", and we do not control what those sites collect.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser; the appearance preference will simply reset.
- Use a content blocker or your browser's tracking protection to stop the analytics script.
- Open external references in a private window if you do not want them to recognise your visit.
Changes
If the implementation changes, this notice is updated and the date above changes with it.
